Insulation Piercing Connector
Insulation Piercing Connector Description
Insulation piercing connector is a type of electrical connector designed to make electrical connections to insulated wires without the need to strip the insulation. It’s commonly used in applications where tapping into existing wires is necessary without interrupting their insulation, such as telecommunications, electrical distribution.

How an insulation piercing connector typically works
Installation:
To install an piercing connector, you position it over the insulated wire where you want to make the connection. Then, using a specialized tool or mechanism, you apply pressure to the connector, causing the piercing blades to penetrate the insulation and make contact with the conductor inside. This creates a secure electrical connection without the need for stripping the insulation.
Connection:
Once the piercing blades of the insulation piercing connector (IPC) have penetrated the insulation and made contact with the conductor inside the wire, they establish a secure electrical connection. This connection allows for the flow of electrical current between the tapped wire and the IPC.
The ability to attach additional wires or components to the piercing connector simplifies the wiring process and allows for flexibility in electrical installations. It also ensures that the electrical connection remains secure and reliable, even when multiple wires are connected to the IPC. This feature makes it versatile and suitable for a wide range of applications in various industries, including telecommunications, power distribution, automotive, and residential wiring.
